Public Schools

The Fauquier County Public School System has three high schools, five middle schools, eleven elementary schools and one alternative school, which combined, serve an enrollment of just over 11,000 students. The mission of the Fauquier County Public Schools is to cultivate the ability, intellect, and character of each student to ensure an educated citizenry.

Public Libraries

The Fauquier County Public Library system comprises three libraries, Bealeton, John Marshall and Warrenton. As of August, 2005, the library had 180,534 items in its collection, of which, nearly 83,000 are children's and young adult materials. Reference staff is available whenever the libraries are open and an online reference query form is accessible through the library's Web site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All library locations provide public access to the Internet. The Bealeton and John Marshall libraries have public access to Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet software as well. Committed to fostering a love of reading and for lifelong learning, the library presents a variety of cultural, literary and entertainment opportunities for all ages year-round.

Private Schools

Cornerstone Christian Academy is an independent Christian school conveniently located at Vint Hill, in Warrenton. Cornerstone was founded in 1996 and has been a member of VCPE and ACSI. We offer quality Christian education for children Kindergarten through the twelfth grade. Cornerstone uses the traditional teacher taught classroom with a low student to teacher ratio. We use Abeka, Saxon and ACSI curriculum. Extra curricular activities include: Art, PE, Music, Computers and Spanish. For more information please call 540-349-4989.

Fresta Valley Christian School is an independent Christian school in the 25th year of offering quality education from a Christian perspective with classes for children 3 years of age through the 12th grade. The school is conveniently located midway between Warrenton and Marshall.

Highland School- Located in Warrenton, Highland School founded in 1928, is the oldest independent school in Fauquier County. With approximately 540 students, Highland is a coeducational day school for students in Grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Twelve.

Midland Christian Academy is located at 10456 Old Carolina Road just off of Rte. 28 in Midland. The Academy serves children in preschool through sixth grade utilizing A-Beka and other supplemental curricula with a low student to teacher ratio. The preschool program is both social and academic in nature, and the elementary classes are introduced to Spanish, music, art and computer technology. Salem Community Montessori School - located at 4133–A Rectortown Road in Marshall Virginia, is a private elementary Montessori School registered with the state of Virginia. The Directress/Teachers are accredited with the Association Montessori International. The Salem Community Montessori School classroom is a multi-age class where students from grades 1st through 6th work together in a single classroom.
